Pedal Britain are committed to providing regular updates regarding the evolving COVID-19 issue and the status of our cycling tours for 2020.
Please be reassured that we have many years experience of handling all manner of situations, but at the very heart of what we do is an unwavering commitment to look after the health and well-being of our customers, and our team.At a time when things change so quickly and there is so much uncertainty around, please be assured that whatever happens you will not lose your deposit payment because of this pandemic, your funds are secure.
Have Any Tours Been Cancelled Yet?
Yes, due to current Government advice regarding travel and social distancing we have for the health and safety of our customers and staff taken the difficult decision to cancel ALL tours due to start BEFORE September 2020.
If you are impacted by this decision you will have already received an email giving you the following 3 options:
1. Defer to the same tour in 2021
2. Move to a different tour in 2020/21
3. Receive a Full Refund
No additional charges will be made in any of these circumstances.
When Will You Make Decisions About Later Tours?
Pedal Britain are committed to running our cycling tours safely for the customers who do still want to participate and where the Government advice allows. For UK tours that start AFTER 1st June 2020, we will wait until 4 weeks before each tour 'start date' to make any decisions about cancelling. As I am sure you can appreciate, this allows us to be as flexible as possible given how rapidly the situation can change to assess the feasibility of running a tour.
We continue to monitor the situation closely, if it becomes obvious that a tour definitely cannot operate, then we will notify you directly by email at that stage - which maybe earlier than the stated 4 weeks.
Balance Payments for Tours in 2020
Our usual policy for balance payment of the holiday is 8 weeks prior to travel. However, to help facilitate maximum flexibility in reacting to changing circumstances, we have taken the decision to move this to 4 weeks prior to travel in 2020. To be clear - we will only collect balance payments when we are certain that a tour is going ahead as planned.
What Happens if I Decide to Cancel?
We fully appreciate that some of our customers may be hesitant or nervous about travelling and participating in 2020. Anyone who wishes to delay, transfer or cancel their booking due to Coronavirus concerns when a tour is still scheduled to run will have the same options outlined above. We feel that under these exceptional circumstances of COVID-19 that this is the right thing to do.
Ongoing COVID-19 Communications
As the situation continues to unfold we will regularly email and post here general updates on the COVID-19 impact on tours. However if we do take the decision to cancel a tour you will be contacted directly by Pedal Britain to discuss your options.
We hope this helps to clarify our current approach during what are uncertain times. If you do have any specific urgent questions then please do get in touch. However as you can appreciate it may take a little time to respond, due to current high volume of enquiries.
Pedal Britain hopes that you and your family remain fit, and healthy during what is a concerning time for us all.
Thanks for your understanding, patience and continued support.
