Pedal Britain are committed to providing regular updates regarding the evolving COVID situation and the status of our cycling tours for 2021.
Please be reassured that we have many years experience of handling all manner of situations, but at the very heart of what we do is an unwavering commitment to look after the health and well-being of our customers, and our team.
At a time when things change so quickly and there is so much uncertainty around, please be assured that whatever happens you will not lose your deposit payment because of this pandemic. Your funds are secure.
Balance Payments for Tours in 2021
Our usual policy for balance payment of the holiday is 8 weeks prior to travel. We may (as we did in 2020 to help facilitate maximum flexibility in reacting to changing circumstances) decide to move this to 4 weeks prior to travel in 2021. If this decision is taken for your specific tour, Pedal Britain will contact you directly stating this.
To be clear - we will only collect balance payments when we are certain that a tour is going ahead as planned.
Please see the following FAQ's for further details:
When Will You Make Decisions About Tours?
Pedal Britain are committed to running our cycling tours safely for the customers who still want to participate in 2021 and where the Government advice allows. For UK tours we may wait up to 4 weeks before each tour 'start date' to make any decisions about cancelling. As I am sure you can appreciate, this allows us to be as flexible as possible given how rapidly the situation can change to assess the feasibility of running a tour.
We continue to monitor the situation closely, if it becomes obvious that a tour definitely cannot operate, then we will notify you directly by email at that stage - which maybe earlier than the stated 4 weeks.
Have Any Tours Been Cancelled Yet?
No, we will continue to assess the ever changing situation and communicate directly to customers should we unfortunately take the decision to cancel any tours.
If you are impacted by such a decision you will receive an email giving you the following 3 options:
1. Defer to the same tour later in 2021 (subject to availability) or 2022
2. Move to a different tour in 2021 (subject to availability) or 2022
3. Receive a Full Refund
No additional charges will be made in any of these circumstances.
What Happens if I Decide to Cancel?
We fully appreciate that despite the vaccination program some of our customers may be hesitant or nervous about travelling and participating in 2021. Anyone who wishes to delay, transfer or cancel their booking due to Coronavirus concerns when a tour is still scheduled to run, providing you notify us at least 8 weeks prior to the tour you will have the same options available as outlined above. We feel that under these exceptional circumstances that this is the right thing to do in offering flexibility to our customers.
How Will You Communicate Any Changes?
As the situation continues to develop we will regularly email customers and post general updates on this page regarding any COVID impact on tours in 2021. However if we do take the decision to cancel a tour you will be contacted directly by Pedal Britain to discuss your options.
We hope this helps to clarify our current approach during what are still uncertain times. "We're ready to go" and remain optimistic that we will be able to safely operate our cycling tours in 2021 and confident that we have the correct procedures in place.
If you do have any specific urgent questions then please do get in touch. However as you can appreciate it may take a little time to respond, due to current high volume of enquiries. Pedal Britain hopes that you and your family remain fit, and healthy in 2021.
In the meantime 'Keep Pedalling' and 'Thank You' for your understanding, patience and continued support.
The Pedal Britain Team.
